This article has moved to the Knowledge Hub. The full, maintained version now lives in How to Prepare Your App for Closed Testing, with sources, review dates, and related guides.
Before starting a testing cycle with AppsTestLab, here's how to prepare your app:
1. Make sure your app is available on a Google Play testing track — closed testing for pre-release versions, or an internal test track if you only need a small early group.
2. Add appstestlab@googlegroups.com to the testers section of the track, save the configuration, and copy your Google Play testing link.
3. Write a brief description of what to test — core features, specific areas of concern, or particular user flows.
4. List any known issues — testers should focus on finding new issues, not reproducing known ones.
5. Share any login credentials needed — if your app requires an account, provide test credentials through WhatsApp.
6. Note device requirements — if your app requires specific hardware features (camera, GPS, etc.), let us know.
7. Share your app's target audience — knowing who the app is for helps testers provide relevant feedback.
The more context you provide, the more useful the testing feedback will be. But don't worry if you're not sure what to include — we'll guide you through the process.
