How to Request Production Access After Closed Testing

Once 12 testers have been opted in continuously for 14 days, your Play Console Dashboard unlocks the production access application. It's a short questionnaire in three sections — and it's read by people, so honest, specific answers are the fastest route to approval.

Where to find the application

Open Play Console and check the Dashboard for your app. When the testing milestone is met, the option to apply for production access appears there. Select it and the questionnaire opens.

The questionnaire is the same substance Google uses to decide whether more testing is needed. If your answers describe thin recruitment, weak engagement, or issues that remain unfixed, the honest outcome is a request for additional testing — not a denial of your account.

What happens after you submit

Google reviews your application with your test data. The stated expectation is that reviews are usually completed within 7 days or less. If approved, production, open testing, and pre-registration become available to your account and you can roll out to the store.

If more testing is requested

Google may ask you to continue closed testing — for instance, when fewer than 12 testers are opted in, or tester engagement during your test period was insufficient. Treat this as feedback: grow the tester group, push the installs, gather more usable feedback, and re-apply when the milestone is genuinely met.
